PODCAST EP:1 “4 Tips On Structuring Your Day As An Entrepreneur”

Coach Ani - the Podcast EP:1 "4 Tips on Structuring Your Day As An Entrepreneur"

Do you have SO much to do that you just end up doing... nothing?

There is a constant running list in your head, and halfway through one task, you move to another that is "more" important. Just to be utterly exhausted at the end of the day and STILL, feel like you have nothing done.

For the first time in 5 years, I'm self-employed. And while this has been a thrilling couple of weeks, there were moments where I found my head spinning with ALL of the things I wanted to do and accomplish in a single day.

Can you relate? 😅

Here are a few things that I do to not only keep me on track and making progress but also avoid burnout, AND get my head right whenever I don't feel like doing well... anything.

First: DUMP IT!

The number of times that I'm mid-project and have a thought about something I should do, only to forget it 5 minutes later is SCARY.

So the first thing I like to do is dump EVERYTHING I'm thinking onto a piece of paper. I don't bother categorizing it. I just dump. And that is everything from laundry and sweeping the floor, to creating content for the next week or ordering hair for my clients. I need it out of my brain!

Second: CHOOSE THE NEXT DEADLINE, OR MORE DETRIMENTAL

We have a tendency to avoid the shit we SHOULD be doing because it doesn't seem fun.

The first task/project you're going to complete is whatever has the soonest deadline OR is the most detrimental

Third: SET A TIMER

If you sit down to complete a task and think "well ... I have an hour, I can write one post." That it is going to take you the full hour. Even if it's only a 20-minute project.

So instead of sitting down with "limitless" time, set a time for 15 /20 minutes. That will have you focus and work faster because of the limit.

Fourth: GIVE YOUR MIND BREAKS

Stop working. No seriously. Just like our phones need to recharge, your mind does too. Sometimes the worst thing you can do is FORCE yourself to keep focusing. You're working at maybe 30% capacity. Take a break for 5 minutes. Walk around outside. Get some sunshine, and fresh air, and let your brain relax.

You'll come back ready to crush the next project as opposed to starting blankly thinking about how tired you are. (Or drinking more coffee in hopes that will work)
